Defensive Driving
Driving is an essential part of daily life, but one mistake can change lives forever. With more cars on the road and increasingly stressed drivers, we must take responsibility for safety by continually sharpening our skills and maintaining a proactive, safety-first attitude. Brasco Safety’s online Defensive Driving Awareness course, composed of six modules including Defensive Driving Techniques and Collision Avoidance, takes approximately 90 minutes to complete and culminates in a final exam to test your knowledge.

Rigging (Basic)
Rigging is the process of securing materials to be moved by cranes, hoists, or other lifting equipment, requiring careful consideration of slings and chains to avoid catastrophic failures. Brasco Safety’s comprehensive online rigging course covers all essential aspects. Forklift Training (Counterbalanced)
Brasco Safety’s Forklift Training for Counterbalance Lift Trucks takes an average of 2 hours to complete and provides a certificate valid for three years, recognized across Canada. The course includes modules on Workplace Safety, Pre-operational Inspections, Fuel Sources, Capacity Principles, Stability Principles, and more, concluding with a final exam where students must score at least 80% to pass. Rigging and Slinging (Advanced)
Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC) – 3 Demerit (Alberta)
Brasco Safety’s Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC) is designed for transportation industry drivers as both a refresher on safe driving techniques and an introduction to new concepts. This Alberta Government-approved program offers a 3-point demerit reduction upon successful completion with a minimum 80% passing grade, and a verified certificate becomes available within 48 hours. The course features eight modules, including interactive scenarios, videos, and knowledge checks, covering topics such as defensive driving, adverse conditions, emergency techniques, and the impact of fatigue.
Leadership Fundamentals
This online Leadership Fundamentals course from Brasco will teach you how to identify key characteristics of leaders, build trust and confidence with employees, and avoid behaviors that undermine leadership. After completing this course, you should also be able to promote teamwork and esprit de corps, act decisively, and demonstrate leadership in a crisis. The course covers topics such as characteristics of effective leaders, behaviors that undermine leadership, the impact of leadership, leadership in a crisis, and includes case studies.

Detection and Control of Flammable and Toxic Atmospheres
Brasco Safety’s course on the detection and control of flammable and toxic atmospheres provides essential information to keep you safe while working around potentially dangerous gases. It covers the operation of common detector tube devices and gas monitors, including personal, portable, and fixed types, as well as topics like explosive ranges, toxic atmospheres, and flammable substances. This course is ideal for anyone entering work sites that require gas detection equipment, such as plant sites, drilling operations, pipeline operations, and confined spaces, ensuring comprehensive safety knowledge and certification.

Confined Space Entry and Monitor
Brasco Safety’s online Confined Space Entry and Monitor course defines confined and restricted spaces, explains associated hazards, and provides methods for hazard assessment, elimination, control, and monitoring. The course aims to help you demonstrate proficiency in identifying, classifying, and monitoring these spaces, covering requirements under Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) legislation. As a pre-requisite for Confined Space Rescue training, it includes topics such as classification systems, hazard procedures, personal protective equipment, and emergency response plans.

WHMIS 2015
Brasco Safety’s online WHMIS 2015 course aims to prevent workplace injuries, diseases, and deaths resulting from the storage and use of hazardous products. Implementing the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) standard, this course provides essential knowledge on hazard classification and communication. By the end of the course, you will know what hazardous products you could be exposed to, where to find hazard information, how to protect yourself, and what to do if an incident occurs.

Aerial Platform – Boom & Scissor
Many industries have atmospheric hazards that can have deadly consequences if you are uninformed and unprotected. Brasco Safety’s online Gas Detection and Nitrogen Awareness course will teach you about the dangers of hazardous atmospheres, the reasons incidents occur, and the importance of testing, plans, and proper training. Topics include the hazards of gases and vapors, the dangers of nitrogen, gas testing methods, and the use and care of gas detection equipment.
Gas Detection
Brasco Safety’s online Aerial Platform – Boom & Scissor course aims to reduce risks associated with straight telescoping boom, articulating boom, and scissor lift mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) by teaching the fundamentals of safe operating procedures. The course complies with CSA standards B354.7 and B354.8, ANSI standards A92.22 and A92.24, and OSHA 1926.453 requirements for theory training. Topics include operator responsibilities, required PPE, machine stability factors, operational hazards, and safe start-up, operation, and shutdown procedures.

Fall Protection Training
Brasco Safety’s online Fall Protection Training course covers the basics of fall arrest, travel restraint, and work positioning, including fall protection definitions, components, fall calculations, equipment maintenance, and rescue planning. It addresses both theoretical and practical aspects of using fall protection equipment across multiple industries such as construction, oil and gas, telecommunications, drilling and service rigs, power generation, and industrial environments. Approved by Alberta Environment & Parks for Continuing Education Units, the course includes topics like fall protection statistics, applicable legislation, anchor systems, and fall protection and rescue planning.

Brasco Safety’s online Leadership for Safety course offers a foundational understanding of contemporary leadership principles needed to become an exceptional Safety Leader in the workplace. Designed for employees with basic safety knowledge, this course helps them make a significant impact on workplace safety and influence the overall safety culture. Unlike typical safety leadership courses, it focuses on applying practical, contemporary leadership principles to safety, covering topics such as safety leadership responsibilities, essential leadership tools, innovative safety solutions, and the role of mentorship in safety leadership.
